Fall in love with the coastline of the province of Cádiz on this day trip to Tarifa, Vejer, and Baelo Claudia, where you'll discover its important Roman legacy.
Day Trip Details
After picking you up in Cadiz, we'll head towards the coastline of the so-called Costa del Atún, one of the most beautiful maritime areas of the province of Cadiz.
First, we'll take a guided tour of Vejer de la Frontera, where we'll explore its medieval walls and discover its Moorish and Christian heritage.
The route then continues to the Roman site of Baelo Claudia, located next to the Playa de Bolonia. In ancient times, this settlement was renowned for producing a sauce known as garum. Do you know how it was made? We'll find out as we walk among the remains of the theater, the forum, and the temples.
The day trip will continue to Tarifa, which holds the distinction of being the southernmost city in Western Europe. Once there, you'll have 2 hours of free time to have lunch and visit its main landmarks, such as the Parroquia de San Mateo Apóstol y el Castillo de Guzmán el Bueno, the setting for countless legends.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point in Cadiz, arriving after 8 hours in total.
